The men's 100 meters was run 90 minutes behind the original schedule in front of a still-packed house. Usain Bolt of Jamaica is now the fastest man in the world.

The race was the first in a nationwide series of women's race events that focus on women but also welcome men. Finishers earned a silver necklace, and the after-party included wine tastings, box lunches, mini- massages, music, and more!

(Lynn Jennings, an eight-time winner, and Marla Runyan are the other two).

Dean Karnazes heads to the Gobi Desert in China, as the second race in The North Face Desert Grand Slam, in which he will attempt to complete the world's five major desert foot races in a single calendar year, a total of 755 miles, while raising awareness of and funds to fight the world's safe drinking water shortage through a partnership with The North Face and the Blue Planet Run Foundation.

IAAF Golden League to be broadcast on ESPN

American fans can catch all six 2008 AF Golden League meets on ESPN2, the IAAF has announced. Repeat coverage will also appear on a combination of ESPN Classic and ESPN2. In addition to the ESPN coverage, the action also will be webcast on the Sportnet family of websites. The first race kicks off this Sunday, June 1 in Berlin.

This annual event memorializes the former Northwestern University men's basketball coach and Vice President of Community Affairs at Aon who was murdered in 1999 in an act of racism and violence.

Ridouane Harroufi of Morocco repeated as the Bolder men's champion, with the help of a fierce kick over the final 500 meters that carried him past Ethiopians Dmessew Tsega and Gebo Berka. Harroufi, 26, clocked 28:32 to win $4500, part of a prize purse of $84,000.

OTTAWA, Canada - (May 20, 2008) - Emilie's Run - The Emilie Mondor Memorial 5K Race for Women will be run on Saturday, June 21 from the Aviation Museum in Ottawa. Emilie's Run is a women's-only 5K road race named after Emilie Mondor who was killed in a car accident in September 2006. She was the first Canadian woman to run under 15 minutes for 5000 meters and an Athens Olympian.

cascades08foley.JPG The women's race featured two top masters runners who are frequently threats to win it all. Linda Foley (46) of Oak Hill, VA did just that in 40:16. Kristin DiDomenico (41) of Sterling, VA was next in a swift 40:46. In 1996, Ray Pugsley (39) of Potomac Falls, VA won the race and set the age group record in a fancy 33:29.

May 25, 2008 - OTTAWA – Under a beaming sun and in front of thousands of spectators, Asmae Leghazoui of Morroco captured the overall women’s title and a new course record at the ING Ottawa Marathon with a time of 2:28:43. The previous record, established by Lioudmilla Kortchaguina in 2006, was 2:29:42.

An international field of elite athletes will take to San Diego's streets for the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon on June 1, 2008. The men's elite division will be lead by the reigning 2007 Chicago Marathon champion Patrick Ivuti of Kenya. Ivuti joins an exciting men's field that includes defending San Diego champion Daniel Yego of Kenya and Olympian Michael Aish of New Zealand.

The 33rd Annual race takes place Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Baltimore Museum of Industry Baltimore, MD. The annual Baltimore Women's Classic 5K (BWC) will take place on Sunday, June 22, 2008 beginning and ending at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The BWC continues to celebrate its place as the second-longest consecutively running all women's event in the entire country.
