DiLallo Wins Skidaway Marathon

SAVANNAH, GA — Marcus DiLallo of Durham, NC, was overall winner of the Skidaway Island Marathon on March 24, finishing in 2:47:56. Second and third finishers were Charles Bushnell of NYC in 3:02:05 and Andrew Merritt of Culpepper, VA, in 3:09:35.

FAYETTEVILLE, NC — British soldier Edward Knudsen won the All American Marathon on Sunday, March 25, in 2:34:07. He is stationed at Fort Bragg for training exercises for British soldiers. Second went to Daniel Schlich of Fayetteville in 2:35:23. Peter Koskey of Fayetteville was third in 2:36:32.

TRINIDAD -- A new women's-only race world half marathon record was set Sunday as Netsanet Gudeta Kebede of Ethiopia ran 1:06:11 to win the IAAF Trinidad Alfonso World Half Marathon Championship.

The previous record was 1:06:25 for a single-sex race.

HAMPTON, VA — Maurice McCowen, 16, of Hampton, was the overall winner of the Joe & Sue Moore Memorial Scholarship 5K here on Saturday, March 24, finishing in 18:35.

Overall female winner was Jennifer Anderson, 37, of Poquoson, in 20:44.

Second and third male finishers were Ryan Doupe (18:55) of Newport News and Matthew Franco (19:10) of Williamsburg.

Marine Corps Lottery Opens

WASHINGTON, DC — The lottery for the 2018 Marine Corps Marathon will be open until noon on March 28.

Runners can sign up on the Marine Corps Marine website at Events.com.

The race will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28.

CARY, NC — Carson Truesdell of Charlotte finished first at the Allscripts Tobacco Road Marathon on March 18 in 2:28.07. Ryan Jank of Mooresville was runner-up in 2:30.22, followed by Ryan Laytham of Durham in 2:44.59.

Grace Stadnyk of Raleigh was the women’s winner in 2:59.45, followed by Kate Galie of Keswick, VA in 3:06.41 and Taylor Reffett of Middleburg, VA in 3:08.16.

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC — Walt Guyer of Charlotte was overall winner of the Wrightsville Beach Marathon on March 17, completing the 26.2 miles in 2:32.46.2. Second went to Steven Anderson of High Point in 2:38.08, and Hugh Crews of Wilmington was third in 2:42:08.3.

SARASOTA, FL — Blake Riley, 21, of Sarasota was the overall winner Sunday of the First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon, finishing in 1:13:19. Second went to Jacob Deese, 28, of Lakeland, while Joshua Cochran, 37, of Ohio, was third in 1:17:43.

SUMTER, SC — Ludovic Ott, 32, of Sumter was the winner of the Tuomey Foundation 5 Miler on Saturday, finishing in 30:39.

Second was Charles Thoennes in 31:35. Colin Barth was third in 31:56.

Fourteen-year-old Margaret Kelly of Sumter was the first female in 38:44. Second and third were Kathleen Peil (39:14) and Susan Osteen (39:22).
