ATLANTA, GA — Registration for the 2016 Virtual JG 13.1 & Barb’s 5K Opened in May 2016, and is still open until early April 2017. The virtual option was created for fans of the Galloway Race Weekend, who were unable to travel to the actual race events in Atlanta, Jeff Galloway’s hometown and backdrop of his signature race event.
DENVER, NC — The 8th Annual Valentine’s & Couples Division 5K and Fun Run on Feb. 18 will raise funds to assist struggling families.
Race official and East Lincoln High School Coach Melvin Morrison said some of the kids at his school have no food at home on weekends. “We also want to try to send some kids to camp this summer,” he said.
CULLOWHEE, NC – Western Carolina University will host the seventh annual Valley of the Lilies Half Marathon and 5K April 1.
The half marathon will begin at 8 a.m. and take runners on a picturesque 13.1-mile journey through the WCU campus in Jackson County, along the Tuckasegee River and around Cullowhee. The 5K (3.1-mile) run/walk will start at 8:15 a.m.
RADFORD, VA – Redford University Athletics will host the Highlander Half Marathon, 8K and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, April 29. The races will take place throughout the Radford City limits.
The half marathon and 8K will begin at 8 a.m., at the Dedmon Center. The race course will take runners on a tour of Radford that includes the university campus and surrounding neighborhoods.
LOUISVILLE, KY — The Louisville Triple Crown of Running, presented by Planet Fitness, is pleased to offer the Triple Crown Team Challenges sponsored by Novo Nordisk. A team may choose to participate in any individual race or all three races in the series. There is also a Team Challenge Triple Crown Award for any team that wins all three races.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Wednesday the state-by-state winners of its third annual High School Coach of the Year award for cross country.
OCALA, FL — Ryan Kipp of Veradale, WA won the Ocala Marathon Jan. 15 in 3:12:40. Second was Jason Honensee of Tallahassee in 3:12:40, while Mark Lanzillo of Orange Park (3:12:40) finished third.’
Alexis Sidari of Pittsburgh was female champion in 3:20:33. Second was Amanda Furrer of New York in 3:23:44, while Kay Evans of North Carolina was third in 3:36:35.
Dubai (UAE) — A bonus of $250,000 is offered to any runner who can break the world record at this week’s Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon being held on Friday (January 20).
The bonus is in addition to the first prize of $200,000 and underlines the status of the popular IAAF Gold Label race as the richest marathon in the world.
NEW ORLEANS — Richard Bouckaert won the 110th running of the Jackson Day 5.6-mile race. The unusual distance is significant as it commemorates the 1815 distance Jean Lafitte and his pirates ran to help defend New Orleans against the British.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham Track Club has been invited to send up to three club members and their escorts to the annual Maebashi-Shibukawa City Marathon in Japan.
The City of Maebashi is Birmingham’s "friendship city" and club members have been treated in the past as honored guests.
Race events on April 23 include a marathon, 10K, 5K and 1.5K.
