The RRCA is pleased to announce that there is a no increases in dues or insurance rates in 2018 for clubs, events, and event management companies. The hard work and focus on producing safe events by RRCA members has helped maintain the affordable rates for our group.

Jorgensen Shifts to Marathon

Olympic triathlon gold medal winner Gwen Jorgensen says she is turning to the marathon and aims to make the American Olympic marathon team and go for gold in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

If successful, she would become the first woman to win gold in different summer Olympic competitions.

Dixon, Sprawling win City of Oaks Marathon

RALEIGH, NC — Michael Dixon of Highland Park, N.J., raced home the winner in the City of Oaks Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 5, finishing in 2:37:02. Ivaylo Benov was second in 2:41, and Max Hofmann third in 2:52:09.8.

Esther Sprawling of Cameron, NC, was the female champion in 3:08:49.3, followed by Emily Eickhoff in 3:08:54.1, and Kimberlie Meeker in 3:11:19.

WILMINGTON, NC — Matthew Eyler was the winner Sunday of the Battleship North Carolina Half Marathon in 1:20:10. Raymond Gephart came in second in 1:24:35.7, and Chad Rockford was third in 1:26:32.8.

Elizabeth Soporowski was the female winner in 1:26:40. Sommer Baucom finished second in 1:27:01 and Michelle Fogle third in 1:28:58.3.

IRONMAN Foundation Helps Kids

TAMPA, Fla. – The IRONMAN Foundation® will provide youth backpacks and a $3,000 grant sponsored by Boardwalk Beach Resort Hotel & Convention Center to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bay County for Pan-Florida Challenge Power Packs to feed hungry children enrolled in its after-school programs. In addition, The IRONMAN Foundation will distribute more than $48,000 in grant funding to nonprofit groups and initiatives in the greater Panama City Beach area in conjunction with the 2017 IRONMAN Florida triathlon taking place on Saturday, November 4.

GREENVILLE, SC — It was a 1-2-3 finish for Greenville runners in the Spinx RunFest Marathon Oct. 28 with Cole Atkins leading the way in 2:33:15. Daniel Moss was second in 2:37:42 and Daniel Smoak third in 2:42:36.

Ann Donlan of Waxhaw was the female winner in 3:14:41, followed by Heidi D’Ettore of Fort Mill in 3:15:37 and Kelly Cattano of Greenville in 3:20:51.

sgbonline.com - Brooks Running Company reported an 11 percent increase in third-quarter revenue year over year, led by a 14-percent increase in global footwear sales. Success of the company's footwear business in the third quarter was driven by demand for the Ghost and Adrenaline GTS, which grew 39 percent and 30 percent respectively.

ROCK HILL, SC — Jonathan McGinnis was the winner of the Great Pumpkin Run 5K in 16:06, followed by Averett Tinsley in 17:15 and Thomas Long in 18:29.

Female winner was Anne Ruthenbeck, of Fort Mill, in 21:57, followed by Allie Niekras in 22:34 and master’s winner Paige Kell in 22:55.

Male masters winner was Thomas Long, of Rock Hill, in 18:29.
