NEW ORLEANS — Emil Bojanov and Kimberly Blaise were overall winners Sept. 1 of the New Orleans Pride Run + Walk. Bojanov, 34, finished in 17:47. Blaise, 42, was female champ in 21:50.

COLUMBIA, SC — Avery Mitchell, 26, and Erin Miller, 42, both of Columbia, were winners of the Labor Day 5 Mile race. Mitchell finished in 28:11 as the overall winner. Miller led females to the finish line in 31:42.

Marion with Glen and David.jpgNORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR — Brian Sieczkowski of Maumelle and Carla Langley of Little Rock were winners of the ARK 5K Classic on Sept. 1. Sieczkowski, 40, was overall winner in 16:59.28. Carli Langley, 25, of Little Rock was female winner in 18:30.54.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Marathon race officials announced that registration has opened for the Little Rockers Kids Marathon. The Little Rockers Kids Marathon is a family-friendly event to be held March 2, 2019. The Little Rockers Kids Marathon is a project of Little Rock Parks & Recreation and is part of Little Rock Marathon Weekend, which is presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The mission of the Little Rockers Kids Marathon is to provide children in 1st through 6th grades the opportunity to enhance their physical activity while focusing on reaching a goal. Participants improve their fitness level by following a fun, simple running and/or walking program.

The most significant change occurs between miles 13 and 14 where after bearing right around the circle on President Street runners will funnel over the recently opened Central Avenue Bridge and around Harbor Point’s Central Plaza before making their way back to Boston Street and embark on the second half of their 26.2-mile journey.

HAMPTON, VA — Chrristopher Cox, 37, of Norfolk won the 8th Annual Transitions 5K in 18:00. Female winner was Meghan Olson, 27, of Yorktown, in 25:32. The race, conducted by the Peninsula Track Club, was held on the Matteson Trail that circles The Hampton's Golf Course.

Woodstock National 5K Champs

ANNISTON, AL — Francis Waithaka and Gladys Cheboi, both of Homewood, were winners of the Woodstock National 5K on Aug. 4.

Waithaka finished in 15:13 to finish ahead of Fred Kosgei (15:45) and Ethan Strand(15:50) both of Birmingham, in the overall race. Cheboi finished in 17:323 to lead Purity Munene (17:50) and Elena Kidd (17:57) to the finish. All are from Homewood.
