Unique Cannon Medal

BRISTOW, VA — Runners in the Oct. 1 Prince William Half Marathon will receive a unique cannon medal with a copper finish featuring a cannon wheel that spins. The race is run on paved roads of the Manassas National Battlefield where soldiers of the North and South battled twice. The copper color is similar to the finish on battlefield cannons used in the Civil War. PrinceWilliamHalf.com.

GAFFNEY, SC — Francis Kamiri, 30, was the overall winner of the July 8 Peach Festival 10K in 36:30. Second was Tony Casey, 30, of Greenville, SC, in 36:59, while Alex Marchek, 20, of Gainesville, FL, was third in 37:51.

MEMPHIS, TN — Graham Farnsworth was the winner of the Memphis Stars & Stripes 5K here July 2, finishing in 16:35.29. Jacob Reeves was second in 16:56.86 and Andrew Chumney third in 16:59.04. Fourth was Christopher Rayder in 17:06.96 while Nicholas Pinarski was fifth in 17:08.37.

LENOIR, NC — Isaac Blackburn, 37, of Newton, was the overall winner of the Firecrack 10K here on July 2, finishing in 40:18.1. Second was Austin Edmunds, 24, of Sandy Ridge, in 40:50.7. Third was Matthew Burdick, 39, of Cary, in 41:16.

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Christopher Haynes, 24, was the overall winner of the July 4th Celebration 5K in 15:45. He was followed by Justin Jacobs, 34, in 15:49 and Chris Mutai, 40, in 15:56.

Top females were Natasha Yaremczuk, 37, in 17:35, followed by Julie Stackhouse, 38, in 18:07, and Kim Pawelek Brantly, 43, in 18:26.

McGranahan Wins Adventure 4.5

FLORABAMA, ORANGE BEACH, AL — Jennifer McGranahan, 38, of Pensacola, won the Adventure 4.5 Mile Run here on July 4 in 34:50. Male winner was John Russell, 23, of Mobile, in 35:05. The event included running two miles on the road and 2.5 miles on the beach.

Anthem 5K Fitness Classic, March 10.

Rodes City Run 10K, March 24.

CHAPIN, SC — Ryan Plexico raced home the winner of the Hewitt 5K on June 24 in 18:11. Second went to hometown runner Travis Nichols in 19:31. Third was Nathaniel Wilburn of Lexington in 20:22.

Top female was Kendra Miles of Lexington in 24:28. Laura Broussard of Irmo was second in 24:30 while Kelly Hoppmann of Columbia was third in 25:02.
