Rock Band SUSTO free concert at Rock ’n’ Roll Raleigh

RALEIGH, NC — Headliner indie rock band SUSTO of South Carolina will entertain at a free concert on Sunday, April 8, to close out the two-day Rock ’n’ Roll Raleigh events.

SUSTO released its debut album in 2014 and became an immediate hit. Calling themselves “a kind of gospel,” SUSTO blends classic Americana with the sounds of bluegrass, electronic and soul. Their most recent album, “Stories” was released in mid-February. The five-person band will perform for runners, spectators and the community at the Red Hat Amphitheater following Sunday’s half marathon.

“We know SUSTO is going to be a crowd pleaser with their Americana folk sound,” said Scott Langen, regional director for IRONMAN. “The post-race party is going to be a great way to celebrate the day’s accomplishments these runners deserve. We invite the entire communitey to come out and enjoy the free concert.”

The musically themed Humana Rock ’n’ Roll Raleigh Half Maratdhon presented by WRAL will have a new route this year featuring less hills and showcasing new parts of the city. Increased music will be presented throughout the race, The race ends outside the Red Hat Amphitheater.

New this year is a one-mile race on Saturday, which will be held alongside the 5K in Dorothea Dix Park.

A health and fitness show will be held on Friday from 3-7 p.m and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Raleigh Convention Center.
