Katie McGregor Wins Cow Harbor 10k on Sept. 26; Jason Lehmkuhle Second in Men's Field

16_teamusamn_logo.gifMinneapolis/St. Paul - Sept. 26, 2009 - Team USA Minnesota's Katie McGregor won the women's race at the 32nd Great Cow Harbor 10k today, and Jason Lehmkuhle was second in the men's field. McGregor's time was 33:12 and Lehmkuhle crossed the finish line in 29:18 (first place time for men was 29:15). Over 5,000 participants ran in the event held in Northport, New York, on the Long Island Sound.

McGregor was making her first appearance at Cow Harbor. Her time was the fastest posted on the course since 2003 when the women's winner ran 33:09. Lehmkuhle made his fifth trip to Northport, having won the race in both 2003 and 2007, was second in 2006 and now 2009, and placed fourth at last year's event.

Next weekend on Oct. 4, Lehmkuhle will compete in the USA Men's 10 Mile Championship, which will be held in conjunction with the Medtronic TC 10 Mile in Minneapolis/St. Paul. McGregor will race again on Oct. 12 when she will be among the competitors at the USA Women's 10k Championship, hosted by the Tufts 10k in Boston.
