famigletti.jpgMOORESVILLE, NC — At a recent Pay it Forward race held in Mooresville NC, former Olympian Anthony Famiglietti shows at age 38 he still has wheels to run with the best of them .

He ran and won the challenging course in a time of 15:17 and then ran back to encourage East Lincoln Cross County team members and kids who train with Reckless Running, a company run by Famiglietti.

The group teamed up with Lowes Hardware of Denver, NC and worked with Angel Tree to provide what will be very exciting moments for kids less fortunate for Christmas.

As the runners came across the finish line they received a bottle with money to be donated to the charity of choice. "This is something I look forward to each year,” said Famiglietti. "Coach Melvin Morrison (far right in photo) has done an amazing job of helping put this together for me to work with the team and provide for the less fortunate kids. To know that you have helped to provide Christmas to less fortunate kids is special.”

Anthony and female overall winner Olivia Humphrey (pictured at middle of photo), who ran 20:33, received winning money that they donated to the charity and also the money for the jars that they received.

Other runners who participated and gave are Noah Lesser , Brayden Davis, and Aidan Morrison. Also, Miles Phillips, who is not pictured
