Sea Island Half Marathon to Benefit Hurricane Relief

SEA ISLAND, GA, Oct. 25 – The Resort Races Collection announced that Merrill Lynch and Bank of America will be the Presenting Sponsors of the Sea Island Half Marathon, slated for Dec. 2.

In addition to presenting the inaugural half marathon, 10k and 5k event at Sea Island Resort, Merrill Lynch and Bank of America announced fundraising initiatives through the event will benefit the United Way and Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation’s hurricane relief efforts in Georgia.

“We are proud to sponsor the inaugural Sea Island Half Marathon, an exceptional event that will not only provide runners with a unique race experience, but will also benefit a cause that we take very personally,” said David Rice, Merrill Lynch First Vice President and Senior Resident Director, who is leading the St. Simons Island branch’s fundraising initiatives that will directly benefit Glynn County residents.

Bank of America Market President Patrick O’Neil echoed Rice’s sentiments, “Bank of America is pleased to partner with the race, the United Way, and Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation to raise funds to support the basic health and safety needs of our neighbors who were impacted by Hurricane Irma.”
