Post, Stone Win Marathon

LITTLE ROCK, AR — Brian Post, 37, of Cumming, GA, was the overall winner of the Jacob Wells 3 Bridges Marathon on Dec. 16, finishing in 2:58:12. Shane Poland of Vilonia, AR, was second in 3:00:52 and master’s winner Dustin Benson, 41, of Minneapolis, MN, was third in 3:01:36, followed by Scott Sander, of Little Rock, in 3:04:03. Stan Ferguson, of Maumelle, was the top grandmaster in 3:12:53.

Tia Stone, 39, of Searcy, was the female champion in 3:12:31. Natalie Ragsdale, of Pangburn, was runner-up in 3:14:06, followed by Abrena Rine, of Springdale, in 3:19:17. Master’s winner was Ashley Slayton, 42, of Sherwood, in 3:26:52. Top grandmaster was Pam Sailors, of Springfield, MO, in 3:49:47.

The race is named after the late Jacob Wells of Little Rock, who died in 2014 a few days after running a marathon. Wells ran over 150 marathons.
