The inaugural Jeff Galloway 13.1 Half Marathon and the Barb’s 5K Race Weekend have added beneficiaries to their not-for profit receiver list. For 2014 the line- up includes the following organizations: Atlanta’s Piedmont Park Conservancy, The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), the Piedmont Park Dog Park in Atlanta and Florida’s 26.2 with DONNA; all are organizations Jeff Galloway and his team have special ties to and root for support.

Participants, fans, partners and sponsors will contribute to these organizations through race entry fees, donations, and partner/ sponsorships. “We are very fortunate to have such a loyal fan and runner base, to commit to our race philosophy over and over again,” stated Michele Langevin, Executive Assistant at Jeff Galloway Productions. “For the 2014 JG 13.1 (and Barb’s 5K) race weekend we are fortunate to have as well a great base of new partners in our sponsorship lineup,” she said. Partners will showcase their newest products at the Race Expo on Friday and Saturday, December 12 and 13, 2014, and will be along the race course and at the finish line.

Apart from vendors and the new product showcase, the Expo is featuring Speakers to include Olympian and Race Founder Jeff Galloway; Four-time Boston Marathon Winner Bill Rodgers; Bart Yasso, chief running officer at Runner’s World Magazine; and Bennett Cohen, co-founder and president of the International Association of Women Runners. Partners include CORE POWER, the 2014 official Olympic Protein Drink; Crystal Springs Water; AdvoCare; Vein Clinic of America; BuddyFruits; PacificHealth Laboratories, Inc.: We Power Your Passion and more.

The Jeff Galloway 13.1 on Sunday, Dec. 14, and the shorter Barb’s 5K race on Saturday, Dec. 13, are anticipated to become a staple in the running world, as other of Jeff Galloway events are already, such as the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program, owned and produced by Jeff Galloway, which is one of the largest corporate fitness events in the U.S. registering more than 200,000 runners and walkers with a 32-year history. Partner and Sponsorship opportunities are still available for 2014 and the 2015 race weekend.

The Jeff Galloway 13.1 Half Marathon is named for Olympic runner Jeff Galloway, author, public speaker and “America’s Running Coach” who was recently named by Running USA as the most recognized person in the sport of running. The race is hosted by Phidippides, the oldest specialty running store in the country with two Atlanta locations. Named for Barbara Galloway, Jeff Galloway’s wife of 38 years and also an avid runner, the 5K race has been added to the official race weekend agenda.
