Fast Times at Wine 10K

BIRMINGHAM, AL — On a day when 18 men and 4 women broke course records, Isaac Mukundi Mwangi, 29, of Pelham, AL, raced to victory Saturday, March 11, in 29:44 to win the Birmingham Wine 10K. Joe Bosshard of Boulder, CO, was second in 29:52, followed by Andrew Epperson of Golden, CO, in 30:19; Brandon York of Madison, AL, in 31:20; and Jacob Krolick of Commerce, TX, in 31:27.

Lauren Martin of Alamosa, CO, was the female winner in 34:46, followed by Carmen Hussar of Homewood, AL, in 34:49; Lauren Philbrook of Auburn in 34:54, Gladys David of Murfreesboro, TN in 35:28, and Emma Neigel of Starkville, MS, in 35:51.

Top male masters were Jason McCullough of Hays, KS, in 32:07; Matthew Whitis of Columbus, GA, in 36:23; and John Neiman of Birmingham in 36:41.

Top female masters were Deanna Newman of Birmingham in 37:40, Libet Anderson, also of Birmingham, in 39:17, and Rebecca Hutchinson of Vestavia Hills, AL, in 43:19.
