YORKTOWN, VA — Duncan Chonge of Woodbridge, VA, won the 6th Annual 10-Mile Run for the Heart on Feb. 10 in 53:07, edging Sean O’Hollearn of Hampton, who finished in 53:09. Robert Medina of Norfolk was third in 57:33.

Top female was Jaclyn Hoffman of Newport News in 1:06:20. Second was Christine Hubbard of Virginia Beach in 1:07:08. Jessica Riggs of Williamsburg was third in 1:10:08.

The race was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 5480 with proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.

The 2017 edition of the 10-Mile Run for the Heart was held under perfect running conditions; cloudy with hints of rain and a temperature of 52 degrees at race start. 181 runners entered the 10-Mile Run for the Heart with 153 completing the 10 Mile course on the scenic Yorktown Battlefield.

The course started and finished near Surrender Field on the Yorktown Battlefield. The 10 Mile course is USATF certified #VA12072RT but due to a slightly mis-positioned turnaround point on the out-and-back portion of the course, the actual distance for the race was 9.9 miles.
