Gliders were awarded a team gold medal; gold, silver, and bronze medals for individual performances; and 11 other individual medals for placing in the top 25 of age group competitions.

“Our athletes put in a lot of work this season and the AAU championship is a positive reinforcement for their commitment to cross country training,” said Gliders Cross Country Coach Mark Robinson. “Winning national titles is nothing new for this team as half of them were also on the Midget (ages 11-12) and Bantam (ages 9-10) championship teams in 2009 and 2007, respectively," says Coach Robinson.

The Gliders’ boys team claimed the gold medal in the combined Youth Division (ages 13-14), led by Brandon Marquez (13) with a 4-kilometer race time of 13:45.26 . He was closely followed by Boston Fitzpatrick (14), who had a finishing time of 13:46.86. The team also included Jesse Millson (13), Max Robinson (14), Jerod Fuller (14), Joe Thrailkill (14), Anthony Ferreira (14), and Jeancarlos Peralta (14).

Individually, Marquez placed first in Boys Sub-Youth Division, retaining his 2010 championship title. Fitzpatrick placed second in the Boys Youth Division, and Millson placed third in the Boys Sub-Youth Division.

The Gliders boys team in the combined Midget Division (ages 11-12), placed 4th in the 3-kilometer race. The team included Alexander Boucher (12), Joseph Fitzpatrick (12), Jaylen Rodriques (12), Jarious Gordon (12), Devin Boyle (11), and Kolten Kossler (11).
