PORTSMOUTH, VA — Eight-year-old Braxton Lee of Gloucester, VA, ran in a relay at the Norfolk Harbor Half Marathon on Sunday for a very special reason. He was honoring wounded Portsmouth Police Officer Angelina Baaklini, who was shot Nov. 6 while on duty.

The youngster has run races in several states to raise awareness of violence against police officers.

Portsmouth officers accompanied Braxton across the finish line, then Braxton went to the hospital to present a flag he carried in the race to the wounded officer, who said Braxton asked her to run with him when she got better.
