Registration opens May 1 for 2018 race

SARASOTA, Fla., (March 19, 2017)…In a men’s and women’s winner repeat from 2016, Jon Mott, age 30, of Babson, Fla. and Jacki Wachtel, age 37, of New Port Richey, Fla., took their respective division titles once again and set new course records at today’s 12th Annual First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon & Relay. Mott improved his time by almost two minutes from 1:15:54 in 2016 to 1:14:03 this year, with Wachtel also nearing an almost two minute drop from1:23:53 to 1:22:15. The relay team winners also did a repeat from 2016, with #1RunPros taking the title in 1:26:31, just slightly slower than their 1:26:23 time in 2016.

Presented by Life Time – Healthy Way of Life ™, the longest running half marathon in Sarasota drew participants from 21 states and 15 countries, ranging in age from 10 year-old Sophia Pustilnik from Lake Worth, Fla. who ran the half marathon in 2:39:29 to 84 year-old Bob Ranta of Sun City Center, Fla., who finished in 3:50:57. The race was also the final race for the 5-event Florida Storm Series, also sponsored by Life Time.

2018 Registration opens May 1, 2018

Registration for the 13th Annual First Watch Sarasota Half Marathon & Relay will open May 1, 2017 to allow time for development and approval of a modified course route due to construction in the downtown area. Special early registration fees will also be announced at that time.
