The Asheville Citizen-Times Half-Marathon is the newest race to join the Running Journal Grand Prix. The half-marathon will be held on Sept. 13 in beautiful downtown Asheville, NC. This will be the ninth running of this popular event that also includes a 5K.

The old saying 'Mind Your P's and Q's' has been in use since the 17th century according to at least one dictionary and several citations you can find if you Google the phrase. Basically it can be summarized as meaning that you should be careful, do things right etc. How does this apply to running? Let's look at some of the ways.

Improving Your Running Off the Roads

Running Journal readers familiar with my column are no doubt aware of my belief in relatively high volume training. Whether an athlete is 15 or 65, more often than not I have found it is the athlete who can put in more relaxed to moderate exercise over months and years who will see the finish line first.
