Running is Transforming and Positive

To me, running has always been a transforming activity. Just one run can transform an otherwise awful day into a gratifying one, washing away stresses, frustrations and anxieties.

A week of running can make you begin to feel younger and maybe even tempt you to sign up for a race. A month of runs can transform the numbers on your bathroom scale and several months of running can literally transform your body into something you wouldn't have previously recognized.

There are too many ultras these days. I didn't think I would ever say that, but it is true.

Years ago there were not enough ultramarathons to run. Running them meant you had to travel many miles. The community was fairly small and most runners knew, or knew of, each other.
