tracy harris.JPGI like running. I particularly like running with my friends. Therefore, a relay race sounds like a perfect opportunity.

I've written before about running the Bourbon Chase here in Kentucky. It's a 12-person, 200-mile relay, and it's great. However, it's always right in the middle of marathon season, so I've never been able to get more than two or three of my usual running group on the team in any given year.

Having lived for five years in Boulder, I often experienced what others had told me about Colorado: If you don’t like the weather, just wait 10 minutes. I went on long runs where I’d begin layered with clothing under overcast skies with wind and frigid temperatures. I’d finish the run wearing shorts and a singlet in warm temps under calm blue skies. My waist seemed to have more layers of excess clothing tied around it than there are energy gel packets strewn on the ground just past mile 20 of a marathon.

250px-MCM_Logo.JPGQUANTICO, Va. - The 38th Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) course will feature a flatter course and a new approach to the U.S. Capitol. The notable change in course elevation occurs from Miles 6 through 9 with runners now travelling north on Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway to Beach Drive and then venturing back along the Parkway on roads that are relatively flat.
