In two different October marathons - including most prominently the Nike Women's Marathon - the official order of finish was made a bit unclear by a disparity between order of finish and runners' "chip times."USATF has received several emails and calls from runners, fans and the media about these situations. October 29, 2008 from Washington Running Report (VA) Four African runners (two Kenyan and two Ethiopians) and two local runners took the victory at the First Annual Charlottesville Fall Classic Road Championship. The men's field was dominated by Nicholas Kurgat of Kenya. Nicholas trains in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, but is originally from Kenya. Nicholas winning time was 30:06.

The 2008 RMAC Cross Country Championships were held Oct. 25 in Grand Junction, Colo. at the 27 1/4 Road Motocross Area.
