GREENVILLE, SC — It was a 1-2-3 finish for Greenville runners in the Spinx RunFest Marathon Oct. 28 with Cole Atkins leading the way in 2:33:15. Daniel Moss was second in 2:37:42 and Daniel Smoak third in 2:42:36.

Ann Donlan of Waxhaw was the female winner in 3:14:41, followed by Heidi D’Ettore of Fort Mill in 3:15:37 and Kelly Cattano of Greenville in 3:20:51.

sgbonline.com - Brooks Running Company reported an 11 percent increase in third-quarter revenue year over year, led by a 14-percent increase in global footwear sales. Success of the company's footwear business in the third quarter was driven by demand for the Ghost and Adrenaline GTS, which grew 39 percent and 30 percent respectively.

ROCK HILL, SC — Jonathan McGinnis was the winner of the Great Pumpkin Run 5K in 16:06, followed by Averett Tinsley in 17:15 and Thomas Long in 18:29.

Female winner was Anne Ruthenbeck, of Fort Mill, in 21:57, followed by Allie Niekras in 22:34 and master’s winner Paige Kell in 22:55.

Male masters winner was Thomas Long, of Rock Hill, in 18:29.

POQUOSON, VA — Clint Gault, 17, won the Run for the Bulls 5K on Saturday, Oct. 28, in a fast 15:44. Derry Bray, 33, was second in 15:53 and Derrick Thompson was third in 17:40. All three are from Poquoson. Gault won for the fourth year in a row.

COCOA BEACH — Costa Stithis was overall winner Sunday of the Cocoa Beach Half Marathon in 1:20:12. Female winner was Terri Rejimbal in 1:33.11.

Second and third male finishers were Brian Zickefoose in 1:21.58 and Marcus DaSilva in 1:24.40. Second and third females were Melissa Taylor (1:33.50) and Dina Viselli of Melbourne (1:36.02).

TAMPA, FL -– Women For Tri®, a program of The IRONMAN Foundation® launched by IRONMAN and Life Time Fitness in 2015, announced its next round of Women For Tri triathlon club grants to 11 clubs in the United States and the United States Virgin Islands, bringing the total awarded to more than $183,000.

LITTLE ROCK, AR — In an effort to increase ethnic minority running, officials with the National Black Marathoners Association (NBMA) are hosting a workshop on Nov. 11 in Little Rock, aimed at organizing ethnic running/walking clubs in Arkansas. The goal is to establish running or walking clubs in various faith-based organizations or ethnic minority communities.

Speedway In Lights

BRISTOL, TN — The seventh annual Speedway in Lights 5K will be held Nov. 12 at 6 p.m..

The Sunday evening race and walk will run through Christmas light displays, along the Bristol drag way, and finish inside Bristol Motor Speedway.

The event is presented by Fleet Feet Sports and sponsored by Bristol Motor Speedway. Proceeds benefit the Speedway Children’s Charities.
