Nation’s Triathlon Celebrates 10th Anniversary Sept. 13
WASHINGTON, DC – The only triathlon held in Washington, DC is gearing up for its 10th annual event, and 15 triathletes have participated every year. Events DC Nation’s Triathlon To Benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2015. Triathletes can register at NationsTri.com, with opportunities to join one of the many races-within-a-race challenges—ranging from military to congressional challenges.

New Course for Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk
ATLANTA — For the first time in 33 years, the Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk will have a new, improved route and again offer electronic timing to allow participants to track their performance.

RRCA Accepting Kids Run the Nation Grant Applications
Arlington, Virginia – In 2007, the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) developed the Kids Run the Nation Fund to assists running clubs, events, and schools that are interested in implementing or currently have a youth running program. Since then, the RRCA has granted a total of $115,000 to deserving youth programs around the U.S., along with donating tens of thousands of copies of Kids Run the Nation program guides and kids booklets.

NOTC Run on 10th Anniversary of Hurricane Katrina
The New Orleans Track Club (NOTC) will produce the Folgers Resilience Run / Walk on Saturday, Aug. 29 in remembrance of the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina’s landfall. Toughest 10K Kemah Hosts RRCA Southern Championship
KEMAH, TEXAS – A record 2,000 runners are expected to make their way here next month to race in the eighth annual Toughest 10K Kemah, which doubles this year as the RRCA’s Southern Region 10K Championship.
Set to start and finish Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the world famous Kemah Boardwalk, the Toughest 10K Kemah joins a long list of some of the South’s top 10Ks in the past decade to host the Southern Region Championship, which covers RRCA’s 11-state region that spans from North Carolina to Texas and Arkansas to Florida.

RICHMOND, VA – To celebrate Richmond’s urban trail system and fast-growing craft brewery culture, Sports Backers is announcing the first-ever ‘Trails and Ales’ trail run and craft beer festival, set for Saturday, Oct. 3. Flying Pig Marathon Earns Gold Certification
Cincinnati Marathon, Inc., producer of the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, has earned Gold Level certification by the Council for Responsible Sport (Council) for its social and environmental initiatives. This is the third certification for the May 3, 2015 event— the first was in 2011, the second was a Silver certification in 2013.

UNCW T&F Programs Saved ‘Long Term’
WILMINGTON, NC — Four running programs threatened with elimination at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington have been fully reinstated, Chancellor Zito Sartarelli said. A citizens group, Save UNCW Track, had raised over $255,000 to save the programs for one year. The programs — Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field, Women's Indoor Track and Field, and Men's Cross Country — now are permanently restored.

Shobukhova Forfeits Chicago & London Marathon Titles
Russia’s Liliya Shobukhova has been stripped of 3 Chicago Marathon titles (2009-10-11), her victory in the 2010 London Marathon and all other results in the last six years for doping.
The IAAF world governing body will strike all her results from the record books since 2009.
