The Louisville Triple of Running, presented by Novo Nordisk, is pleased to announce changes to the Triple Crown Team Challenge. Sponsored again in 2015 by Sun Tan City, the Triple Crown Team Challenge will be expanded to offer three team divisions: Male, Female, and Coed. Teams will consist of three to five members who must each be registered for the race. A Coed team must have at least 2 female participants. A team may choose to participate in any individual or all 3 races. The three teams that place 1st in their division of each Triple Crown race will receive individual and team awards. Any team that wins all three Triple Crown races in their division will be crowned Triple Crown Team Challenge Champions.

The Critz Tybee Run Fest, one of the major running events in the Southeast, has announced donations to a variety of area nonprofits during its annual” Giving Back” event, which took place Sept. 24, 2014 during a lunch ceremony at the new Critz Mercedes Benz showroom in Savanah, GA. Each year, those funds are used to provide scholarship grants to Tybee Island, Low Country and Savannah community organizations that encourage and support health and education goals.

Inaugural grand prix tour with six stops offered more than $85,000 plus $7500 GP purse; Running Warehouse’s “Pick-the-Winner” contest engaged Mile fans at every event

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Jack Bolas and Heather Kampf won the inaugural Bring Back the Mile Grand Prix Tour 2014 titles with 24 and 36 points, respectively, and each GP champion earned $2000.

The five-mile Woolly Worm Woad Wace will be held on Saturday, Oct. 11 beginning at the Lees-McRae College track in Banner Elk, NC, at 9 a.m. A one-mile fun run will be held at 10:15.

The races are being held the week prior to the annual Woolly Worm Festival held annually in downtown Banner Elk.

Jeff Galloway.jpg Jeff Galloway will host a running school Jan. 2 as part of The Pistol Ultra Run race weekend at Alcoa, TN.

The Jeff Galloway Running School will be held from 1-4 pm at Alcoa Middle School. Cost is $99 and participants will hear from Galloway on topics including running faster, avoiding injuries, motivation, increasing running enjoyment, nutrition, fat-burning, building endurance, and training for individual goals.

On Saturday, September 27, The New Orleans Track Club will host the 3rd annual Tipitina’s Foundation Rhythm & Blues 5K, a road race open to participants of all running and walking skill levels. The event will take place at 5:00 p.m. starting and finishing at the historic Tipitina’s Uptown location at the corner of Napoleon Ave and Tchoupitoulas Street. Proceeds benefit the Tipitina’s Foundation and their efforts to protect and preserve Louisiana's musical culture.

Training Program Offered to Saline County Residents - Informational Meeting to Be Held Sept. 16

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. – Little Rock Marathon race officials announced today that residents in Saline County will have an opportunity to learn more about running or walking a marathon during an informational meeting on Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mt. Carmel Community Center, 3505 Boone Road, Benton, Ark.

New York City, NY - The National Black Marathoners Association (NBMA) has selected the Annual National Black Distance Runner Hall of Fame honoree. The recipients will be celebrated at the Run2LIVE’s New York City Pre-Marathon Banquet on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM. This is the day before the New York Marathon. This event will be held in the beautiful American Negro Theater at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. It is located at 515 Malcolm X Boulevard, New York, NY 10037-1801. Tickets are $50 until October 15. NOTE: Seating is limited.
