Runner Leading Race Hit By Car

MEDELLIN, COLUMBIA — Joseph Kiprono was in the lead in a half marathon in Colombia, South America, Sunday, Sept. 16, when the Kenyan was struck by a car.

Kiprono was taken to a hospital with cuts and bruises but was later reported in good condition. Kiprono was a previous winner of the race. The car had reported driven past a road closure.

NEW ORLEANS — Emil Bojanov and Kimberly Blaise were overall winners Sept. 1 of the New Orleans Pride Run + Walk. Bojanov, 34, finished in 17:47. Blaise, 42, was female champ in 21:50.

COLUMBIA, SC — Avery Mitchell, 26, and Erin Miller, 42, both of Columbia, were winners of the Labor Day 5 Mile race. Mitchell finished in 28:11 as the overall winner. Miller led females to the finish line in 31:42.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Marathon race officials announced that registration has opened for the Little Rockers Kids Marathon. The Little Rockers Kids Marathon is a family-friendly event to be held March 2, 2019. The Little Rockers Kids Marathon is a project of Little Rock Parks & Recreation and is part of Little Rock Marathon Weekend, which is presented by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

The mission of the Little Rockers Kids Marathon is to provide children in 1st through 6th grades the opportunity to enhance their physical activity while focusing on reaching a goal. Participants improve their fitness level by following a fun, simple running and/or walking program.

Festival-2013-FLAG-endurace-sports-wire-1-275x97.jpgBALTIMORE, MD ─ On the heels of last year’s successful finish line relocation to the Inner Harbor, Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced today the 2018 Baltimore Marathon course will remain mostly the same as 2017 with some additional improvements. The most significant change occurs between miles 13 and 14 where after bearing right around the circle on President Street runners will funnel over the recently opened Central Avenue Bridge and around Harbor Point’s Central Plaza before making their way back to Boston Street and embark on the second half of their 26.2-mile journey.
